Campaigns
2020
As women across the world showed up to march in huge numbers, in the US against gender based violence, or ran a marathon to celebrate women in sports, to women protesting against the citizenship bill amendment in India, it was their demand to be heard that we wanted to amplify.
ASAP’s 2020 International Women’s Day was thus about ‘Speaking Truth To Power’.
This power could be anything/anyone who limits your ability to truly be yourself and stand up for the rights and rights of other marginalized groups.
2019
This year ASAP decided combined Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, firstly to celebrate our Youth Champions, especially women who have been working towards safe abortion rights across Asia and their contribution to the movement as doctors, students, lawyers, trainers, and other capacities. We launched a campaign called #IMakeHistory.
The idea behind it was to celebrate those who are making history every day, ranging from the smallest task of sharing a social media post to increase awareness around safe abortion rights to conducting research, writing articles, and organizing events.

2017
In 2017, the Asia Safe Abortion Partnership identified ten young women champions and highlighted the work that they are doing in their communities as change-makers.
We put together a photo campaign to highlight each champion and their key messages.
