In several countries across Asia, stringent laws, conservative politics, and religious fundamentalism stand in the way of women’s access to information about safe abortion and safe abortion services. Indonesia and Pakistan are among these nations. But in these countries, our partners have managed to provide information about safe medical abortion through abortion hotlines.

This month we are glad to celebrate the launch of two new hotlines – one in Indonesia, and the other in Pakistan:

Peace Foundation and Aware Girls in Pakistan, and Samsara in Indonesia already run very successful hotline that have helped several women gain access to safe abortion, and accurate information.
