The Asia Safe Abortion Partnership had a fabulous 2012 thanks to your support! We are happy to share a few our achievements with you.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

1.\u00a0Medical abortion hotlines<\/strong> run by our partners in Pakistan and Indonesia enjoyed another year’s successful run!<\/p>\n

2. This May, we co-founded and launched the International Campaign for Women’s Right to Safe Abortion<\/strong> along with the ICMA and other international organizations. Take a look at the endorsements through our crowdsourcing map<\/a>, and join us by signing up<\/a> for the campaign.<\/p>\n

3. This June we gave our website<\/strong> a new look by including hotline numbers, detailed country profiles, information on medical abortion and advocacy videos. Please do visit us at\u00a0www.asap-asia.org<\/a><\/p>\n

4. You can also find regular updates from us on social media<\/strong>. Thanks to your support our Facebook page has over 200 followers, and our Twitter page over 400.<\/p>\n

5. We’ve written about abortion laws and access to abortion<\/strong> across Asia on our\u00a0blog<\/a>. We’ve featured a few wonderful guest bloggers like Prof. Ayse Akin of Turkey<\/a>, and interviewed experts like Dr. Manisha Gupte<\/a> and Dr. Abhijit Das<\/a> to bring to you accurate and relevant information on reproductive choices and rights.<\/p>\n

6.\u00a0This August, we conducted a capacity building workshop for mid-level providers<\/strong> from Nepal, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh in collaboration with Ipas Nepal.<\/p>\n

7. On Sept. 26, Nepal observed the 10th anniversary of decriminalization of abortion<\/strong>. We interviewed Dr. Anand Tamang, Adv. Sapana Malla and Dr. Indira Basnett<\/strong> on the history of abortion in Nepal.<\/p>\n

8. On Sept. 28, for the Global Day of Action for Safe Abortion we conducted a global Tweetathon<\/strong> with support from Ipas, WGNRR and other international organizations!<\/p>\n

9. In early November, we conducted our first advocacy institute<\/strong> for young activists<\/strong> around Asia. Our participants will now launch country level advocacy programs!<\/p>\n
